Lesson Curriculum

Lesson 1 - What Is an App? Introduction to App Inventor

Students explore how phone apps work and create their first “Hello World” screen.

Lesson 2 - UI Design Basics

Students learn buttons, labels, images, and layout grids.

Lesson 3 - Events & Interaction

Students add event-based behavior: clicks, swipes, timers.

Lesson 4 - Screens & Navigation

Creating multiple screens and linking them.

Lesson 5 - Variables & Data

Building apps that store and read simple data.

Lesson 6 - Sensors

Using phone accelerometer, gyroscope, or camera (kid-safe uses).

Lesson 7 - Mini App Build

Students begin building their final app idea.

Lesson 8 - Publish Day

Live demo + sending the app to parents.

Final Project:

“My First Mobile App”

Each student develops a fully functional app such as:
• a mini-game
• a quiz app
• a drawing app
• a utility tool
The app includes multiple screens, event logic, and data handling. Parents receive a downloadable file to install the app.
